Aim of the Course.
This Paediatric first aid course will provide the learner with the knowledge, practical skills and understanding required to provide and coordinate first aid in the workplace or in the family home.

The Course is suitable for:
Childcare staff, parents and members of the public who wish to learn how to provide first aid in the workplace and in the home environment

Course Programme:

• Emergency Plan and responsibilities of a first aider
• Basic Life support for children and infants
• Child and infant choking
• Unconscious and conscious child and infant
• Wounds, bleeding, shock, and treatment
• Medical emergencies such as: Asthma, Diabetes,Epilepsy, Febrile convulsions, Meningitis, croup, Anaphylaxis.
• Fractures, sprains and strains and treatment
• Burns and scalds
• Poisons

Methodology
Classroom based learning, group discussion and scenarios specific to the work environment.

Paediatric First Aid book.

Assessment
Each learner will be assessed on their skills throughout the day

Certification
Paediatric first aid certificate, Valid for two years.
