Manual Handling
Aim of the Course
By the end of the course participants will be able to: provide the definition of manual handling: Describe the principles of Manual handling: Apply the principles to identify and assess risks in their workplace and discuss and apply the process for controlling risks of manual handling in the workplace.
The Course is suitable for:
Open to all learners, specifically those who have a responsibility in health and safety within their work environment.
Course Programme:
- Legislation
- Structure of the spine
- Injury to the spine
- Fitness, back fitness, and nutrition
- Ergonomics
- Principles of safer moving and handling loads
- Practical- (floor, bench, height pushing and pulling and team lifts
Methodology:
This is a classroom-based course, with group discussion, practical, and question paper, theory can be completed in a virtual classroom also before practical.

Assessment
The individuals will be assessed over the day through practical and a question paper
Certification
Certificate in Manual Handling valid for two years.
